Campus Based Aid

Campus based aid is a type of financial aid that a college receives from the federal government. The college then has the responsibility to determine which students are eligible to receive this federal aid. They have the arbitrary right to approve or deny aid, but they should have a set standard as to which students they will award aid to, and which they will not.

Types of campus based aid include work study programs, where students work a job in return for payment on their bill. Pell grants are also included as a type of campus based aid. Finally, the Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants fall into this category. Students who wish to find out if they qualify to receive campus based aid should speak with the financial aid office of their chosen school. The financial aid office can assist the student in filing all the necessary paperwork to receive approval for campus based aid.
